Memorial Day activities planned for Farmington

FARMINGTON — Several activities have been planned for Memorial Day in the city’s downtown.
A short wreath laying ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. at the World War I Memorial on Main St. At 9:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post, 158 High St., a ceremony will be held including a color guard, prayers, inspiring music, flag folding and words from guest speaker LCDR Steve Bunker (ret.) on the post’s history. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held as well. Sen. Susan Collins and Rep. Jared Golder will attend.
the parade will begin at 10 a.m. from Mallett School, culminating in a wreath-laying ceremony and the playing of taps at Meetinghouse Park. There will be a free lunch for all veterans at the American Legion Post, hosted by the post auxiliary, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
