L-A Franco Trail launch is May 22

LEWISTON — The Franco Trail L-A will officially launch at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.
The walking tour through the downtowns of Lewiston and Auburn is a reality through the support of CFA (Center de la Francophonie des Amériques) and Museum L-A, Gendron Franco Center, Lewiston-Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, ranco-American Collection USM and Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica.

The launch will include the unveiling of the Franco Trail L-A walking tour map, the website and interactive app. The trail includes main tourist attractions as well as some historical sites. The paper map will be available in all centers of interest in the twin cities. A brief description of the attractions is included with the map.
The trail helps participants discover what Lewiston and Auburn have to offer, and the smartphone app has information on entertainment, history, activities, important places, landscape features, parking, restaurants and more. Organizations registered on Google will be visible on the interactive map.
In addition, the app allows for real-time location of individuals on the trail. People can quickly and easily find their way on Franco Trail L-A. Those who attend the conference will be the first to download the app and get a copy of the paper map.
