Greene siblings bring trophies home after big winter

GREENE — Siblings Michaela and Caleb Harrington have had a pretty good winter sports season, and both now have championship trophies for they family trophy case.

Michaela, 11, plays basketball for the fifth/sixth-grade Greene Youth Athletic Association’s travel team, which ended its 12-game championship season undefeated. She was also the leading scorer in the final game.
Caleb, 8, plays in the Mites division of the hockey league, and his team won the tournament championship game this year.
Caleb’s a hockey veteran, and was named Dunkin’ Donuts “Player of the Month” when he was 4 and participating in the Learn to Play program. Building upon dedication to the sport, he scored a goal and supplied several assists in the championship game.
Both children, whose parents are Kevin and Hazel Harrington, are students at Greene Central School, and are involved with sports year-round.
Caleb plays hockey, soccer and baseball as well as participates in karate, where he has reached blue belt certification. He also enjoys playing in his tree house, swimming and creating projects with Legos.
In addition to playing on the travel basketball team, Michaela also plays team soccer and softball. In her free time, she enjoys swimming and snowmobiling.
