BRIDGTON — More than 150 snowmobilers rode in the Bridgton Easy Riders Club Rally on Saturday, Feb. 16. The rally started and ended at the Community Center.
It was a beautiful day, there was lots of snow, and the trails were well groomed.

The 25-mile rally course crossed Highland Lake, giving riders a great view of Mount Washington, Pleasant Mountain and the Winter Carnival at Highland Lake Beach. Riders sign up and pay a small fee to ride the course at their own speed. It is a fun ride, not a race. Playing cards are selected at several checkpoints along the way. Many sledders came back to watch the fireworks from the lake at 6 p.m. It was spectacular! Inside the Community Center, the Bridgton Easy Riders offered for sale hot coffee, hot chocolate, coffee cake, brownies, burgers, stew and soup. Many people who don’t own sleds, or chose not to ride that day, showed their support by buying a poker rally card and selecting playing cards from a bag so their hand could be recorded. Cash prizes were given to the best three poker hands. In addition there was a 50/50 and Chinese Auction with dozens of prizes. The Bridgton Easy Riders meet the second Friday of each month from September to April at the Bridgton Community Center. The next meeting will be March 8, with a pot luck supper at 6 p.m., followed by the business meeting at 6:45 p.m. The club currently has 110 family members and is still growing. If you ride the trails you should join in on the fun. Hope to seen you there.
