Volunteer drivers needed for Rangeley area medical appointment program

RANGELEY — The Rangeley Regional Health Appointment Transportation van, which provides rides for seniors to and from medical appointments, is looking for volunteer drivers.

Drivers are local residents who have a little time on their hands who are willing to drive an elderly person to and from a medical appointment, said Paul Nute, who manages the program.
It serves residents of Rangeley, and Dallas, Sandy River and Rangeley plantations, but often takes people to the hospital in Farmington, and will go as far as Waterville, Augusta or even Portland for the health transportation needs of the elderly residents in the area.
The rides are a vital service, and a lifeline for many of the area’s most needy residents. It only exists because of the generous service of our volunteer drivers.
