Western Maine Play Museum’s June gala has new location, name

WILTON — Western Maine Play Museum is hosting a revamped version of its spring gala on June 18, including a new event name, which is yet to be announced.
The event will be hosted at the museum and will provide a sneak peek of the interior.

Because the museum can hold more attendees, the ticket price will be lower than in the past. The event, expected to be the museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year, was previously hosted by Calzolaio’s Pasta Co., which will cater the event at the museum.
The highlight of the evening, as in past years, will be the experience auction with auctioneers Jeff Bailey and Dan Ryder from local improv group The Teacher’s Lounge Mafia, who will instigate bidding wars and keep everyone laughing. There will also be music, indoor and outdoor activities, and a grown-ups only event with food and a cash bar.
The Cook Family Charitable Trust will match all fundraising efforts up to $10,000 from now until the June 18 gala.
Jessica Lewis, owner of Inch by Inch Preschool in Wilton, kicked off the fundraising year with a Glow Stick Dance Party at the preschool Jan. 11, and the party, hosted by Jessica and Lacey Gallant, raised $400.
