STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society’s pictorial 2019 calendars are now available.
This year’s cover features Stratton School third and fourth graders in the 1949-50 school year, with their teacher, Nyra Stevens.

The calendar also features January – 1947 Basketball Team; February – Kern’s Inn; March – Novelty Mill Stratton circa 1907; April – Eustis Village Postcard 1903 or earlier; May – Stratton, Brook Bridge, accident scene 1907; June – Haying, Hatch Family, Eustis, Maine; July – The cabins at Tim Pond, circa 1911; August – Dredging, North Branch Dead River just upriver from Cathedral Pines, Eustis; September – The Bigelow Family, 1949, Jimmie, Laurence and Marguerite at the Morgan Farm Camps; October – Lloyd Nile and Harry Stevens in front of the White Front Garage, Stratton circa 1940; November – Grading work and forms of foundation for Frank’s Store, September 1944; December – Early 1950s Christmas Card from Charlie, Nyra and Newton Stevens.
The back page of the calendar features a paragraph about each photograph, which greatly adds to the value of the calendars.
