MCP Kids! presents first show Feb. 22, 23

Jan. 162019

MONMOUTH — The Monmouth Community Players inaugural show of the new MCP Kids! program, “The Great American Talent Show,” will be performed Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23.

The program provides theater education and opportunities for acting and technical theater experience for area youth. The first show, written by Joseph Robinette and directed by Danny Gay, is produced through special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service Inc, Denver, Colo.
Gay, who has performed in MCP’s “The Foreigner,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and more, is excited to be able to bring a children’s theater program to the area. The show was a chance for the Monmouth Community Players to gauge area interest in a children’s theater program and it was met with overwhelming success. MCP will continue its offerings for students in future seasons.
“The Great American Talent Show” cast includes Brady Black of North Monmouth; Caroline Corgan, Riley Fyfe, Cole Montgomery and Anna Whitestone of Winthrop; Juliann Fylstra of Wayne; Nicholas Harper, Hannah McAdam and Greer Slater of Readfield; Josie Charland of Fayette; Brock Rancourt of Lewiston; Mila Barnes-Bukher and Greta Barnes-Bukher of Vienna; and Amara Beganny of Litchfield.
The performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Cumston Hall. Tickets are $10.
