Maine native bee workshop is Feb. 13 in South Paris

SOUTH PARIS — University of Maine Cooperative Extension Oxford County will host a workshop on native bees from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 13, at 9 Olson Road, South Paris.

UMaine Ph.D. candidate Kalyn Bickerman-Martens will discuss Maine’s native bees, bumble bee species and threats, and the Maine Bumble Bee Atlas, a citizen science project. In her research, Bickerman-Martens studies the health of Maine’s bumble bees and wild blueberry pollination.
