LEWISTON – – For the 11th year, Mechanics Savings Bank is the sponsor of the Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice remembrance ornament fundraiser.
Proceeds raised from the ornament sales have a direct impact on patient care for the home health and hospice organization, it said in a news release.
“We never turn away a qualified patient because of an inability to pay,” said Ken Albert, president and CEO of Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice. “Because of this we end up giving away over a million dollars of free care every year.”
Fundraisers like the sales of the remembrance ornament help tcover those costs.
Jeff Gosselin, senior vice president at Mechanics Savings Bank said “we’re proud to support the work Androscoggin does in caring for our friends, family, and neighbors when they are most in need.”
Androscoggin will make available the 2018 Remembrance Ornament for purchase through Jan. 30. The 2018 design features a pewter dove and each ornament comes with a tag with a loved one’s name on it. Ornaments are $25 each and can be bought at www.androscoggin.org or by calling 207-795-9407.
Mechanic Savings Bank’s main office is at 100 Minot Ave., Auburn. It also has a branch at 16 Station Ave., Brunswick.
