Lithgow offers Kirschner history, self-publishing programs in January

AUGUSTA — Lithgow Public Library is starting the year off with programs on local history and self-publishing.
“Manufacturing Augusta: The Kirschner Meat Processing Plant,” presented by the Heritage Center at Mill Park, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7.

The program will discuss the history of industrial Augusta and is the third event in the library’s Heritage Center at Mill Park series. Jan Michaud, founder of the Heritage Center at Mill Park, will share video interviews with former Kirschner workers and owners and will conclude the evening with a question and answer session.
The snow date is Monday, Jan. 14.
Maine author Katherine Silva will give advice on how to self-publish at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Silva, author of the Monstrum Chronicles series and “The Collection,” will discuss the basics for writers who would like to self-publish.
The snow date is Wednesday, Jan. 30.
Both events are free and open to the public.
