Androscoggin hospice schedules volunteer training across central Maine

LEWISTON — Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice has announced upcoming volunteer training sessions will be offered in Lewiston, Casco, Gardiner, Wilton, Augusta and Farmington. For a full list of training schedules, visit Androscoggin.org. Meeting times vary.Volunteers are needed for the hospice program, home visits, the Hospice House, and visits to nursing facilities. Androscoggin volunteers provide companionship to patients, respite for family members, and special requests. Androscoggin also seeks veterans to visit with other veterans, Reiki volunteers, pet therapy volunteers, hospice choir members, and therapeutic musicians, cosmetology and reflexology volunteers.
An application and interview are required. Ongoing training and support will be provided, and volunteers are required to commit to providing two to four hours of service each week for a year. commitment.
