Lithgow Library schedule includes fly-tying, author Charles, holiday concerts

AUGUSTA — Lithgow Public Library has several events scheduled for December, including holiday concerts, an author talk and a fly fishing demonstration.
All of the library’s events are free and open to the public.

The library’s first holiday concert is at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, with the University of Maine at Augusta’s traveling jazz ensemble, Jazz on Tour, coordinated by Duane Edwards and playing holiday-themed music. The snow date is Dec. 17.
The second concert is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, the Winthrop Area Handbell Ringers will perform. The snow date is Dec. 20.
At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, author Robert B. Charles will talk about his most recent book, “Eagles and Evergreens: A Rural Maine Childhood.”
Charles is a native of nearby Wayne. Books will be available for sale and signing. The snow date is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.
At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, local fly-tier and fly fisherman Brian Bossie will talk about the required supplies, what materials and designs work best for which conditions and will do a demonstration.
