Auburn-Lewiston area teams clash in Gipper’s Tip-Off Classic

LEWISTON — The Auburn-Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame and Gipper’s Sports Grill in Auburn teamed up to present the 11th Annual Tip-Off Classic, held Nov. 23 and 24 at Lewiston High School.

Retired Lewiston High School basketball coach and athletic director Fern Masse, representing ALSHOF, said the event, previously held at the Lewiston Armory, will be held at Edward Little High School in Auburn next year.
The tournament will alternate between the gyms annually. High school girls’ teams participating on Friday were the Poland Knights, Lewiston Blue Devils, Edward Little Red Eddies of Auburn and Leavitt Hornets of Turner. Saturday games for the boys’ teams saw multiple tilts with Gorham, Edward Little, Poland and Leavitt.
