LEWISTON — Bakers are invited to use their skills to help save feline lives by donating to the Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends holiday bake sale and bottle drive.
The organization, dedicated to saving the lives of and providing medical attention to feral cats, will hold its annual bake sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 22 and 23, in the former office space at Sabattus Street Self-Storage, 1434 Sabattus St.
Tommy’s Feral Felines is looking for bakers and baked goods for its Purrfect Christmas Bake Sale to help make this holiday season a memorable one for the colonies of feral cats in the area.
Baked goods, bottles and other donations will help the organization continue to save the lives of the forgotten felines of the colonies and other stray cats who have lost their way. Tommy’s provides medical and personal care for these cats living in the wild, including removal of tumors to repairing wounds, cancer treatment, annual check ups, special diet foods (home made), medication, dispensing daily medications whether injections and or fluids with regular medications, dental care, emergency care, hospice care, special needs care, disabled kitties (mentally, physically, emotionally) and homeopathic care.
“Whatever care they need, we provide,” noted Norm Blais, of Greene, who operates the nonprofit organization.
For the past 40 years, TFFF has been on a mission to save lives and provide basic medical care to feral cats. According to Blais, the colonies faced physical ruin this past year caused by falling trees, severe flooding, wind, rotting and vandalism.
“It has hit every colony and brought overwhelming destruction to precious housing that the kitties love and cherish,” Blais said, adding the volunteers are, more than ever, in need of money to help rebuild and prepare the cats and kittens for what is predicted to be a harsh winter.
For the past 40 years, TFFF has been on a mission to save lives and provide basic medical care, including spaying and neutering, to feral cats.
