AUGUSTA — To celebrate Veterans and Military Families Month, the Togus Regional Benefits Office will hold events honoring veterans and their families throughout November.
The purpose of the national month is to “salute the brave and dedicated patriots who have worn the uniform of the United States, and … celebrate the extraordinary military families whose selfless service and sacrifice make our military the finest in the world.”
The Togus Regional Benefits Office was recently recognized as the number three in the country, out of 56. “The Togus Regional Benefits Office is one that our Maine Veterans can be tremendously proud of,” said Julie Carie, director of the Regional Office. “Our 194 employees are fully committed to assisting our Veterans, their families and their survivors gain access to and understand all the benefits they have earned. Our Regional Benefits Office continually strives to set the standard of excellence our Veterans and their families so richly deserve – not just during Veterans Month, but every day.”
