US poet laureate to speak at Lewiston Public Library Nov. 1

LEWISTON — U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith will visit Lewiston as part of her project “American Conversations: Celebrating Poems in Rural Communities” at 7 p.m Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St.

Smith will lead a conversation on the power of poetry; she also will leading an earlier conversation beginning at 1 p.m. at Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St., Norway.
