Community Credit Union donates to three food pantries

LEWISTON – Community Credit Union presented three local food pantries donations of $250 this year to help with their efforts in ending hunger in Maine.
The pantries included Leeds Food Pantry, Poland Community Food Pantry and High Street Food Pantry.

Throughout the year, Community Credit Union conducts fundraisers to help assist with the statewide effort amongst credit unions to provide assistance to local agencies who assist individuals overcome food insecurity.
Community Credit Union participates in the Maine Credit Union League’s initiative the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Maine Credit Unions have raised more than $8 million since 1990 to help end hunger in Maine. At the end of each year, 100% of the money raised by each individual participating credit union is given back to that credit union to be distributed to hunger organization in their community. In 2017, participating Maine Credit Unions raised a new record total of more than $740,000 for the Ending Hunger Campaign.
