LEWISTON –The 15th annual Community Veterans Day prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St.
This is a community-wide prayer service for veterans past and present.
Area clergy of different faiths lead the prayers, and the Kora Highlanders — a blended choir including buglers and bagpipers — provides patriotic songs. The American Flag is honored with the Pledge of Allegiance and a rendition of the national anthem — “The Star Spangled Banner.”
Flags for each military branch will be presented. This year, the meaning of “The Missing Man Table” will be highlighted. All veterans, friends and family are invited without regard to faith affiliation.
