GREENE — Ruth C. Andren celebrates her 90th birthday Friday, Oct. 12.
A resident of Greene for nearly 50-years, she graduated with honors from Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing with an R.N. degree in 1969.
She worked at Central Maine General Hospital for 21 years as a nursing supervisor and finally as the infection control coordinator.
Retiring to her log cabin on Allen Pond, she continued to work part time at Marshwood Center until she was 72, as well as caring for her parents, a disabled brother and an elderly aunt.
She was very active at church and with the Allen Pond Association for many years. She still enjoys outings with the Greene Senior Citizens Group.
