SOUTH PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold two dances in October, on Saturdays, Oct. 13 and 27.
Both will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.
Admission will be $8 per dancer; refreshments will be available throughout the evening, and there will be door prizes given away and a 50/50 drawing.
The Oct. 13 dance will feature husband and wife team Kip and Linda Moulton, calling and cuing for the dancing. Kip will call mainstream and plus levels for the square dancing. Linda will cue for the round dancing.
The Oct. 27 dance will be the Swingin’ Bears’ annual Halloween costume dance of the Maine Federation of Square Dance Clubs. Ray Hilton, the club’s yodeling square dance caller, will be leading the dances. He will alternate calling two mainstream level dances, then one plus level dance. Carol Arsenault will cue the round dancing.
There will be judging of costumes to determine first, second and third places, and monetary prizes will be given to the winners at the Oct. 27 dance.
