Stephens Memorial Hospital to host ‘Being Mortal’ screening

Sep. 292018

NORWAY — Join Stephens Memorial Hospital to explore what matters most at the end of life. Based on the best-selling book by Atul Gawande, the film “Being Mortal” explores the hopes of patients and families facing difficult treatment decisions and their relationships with the doctors, nurses, and family members who care for them.

Following the film screening, the public is invited to participate in a panel discussion that brings medical professionals and community members together around the shared responsibility of discussing what matters most to patients and families and how to have these conversations ahead of a medical crisis. Advance care planning resources will also be available. All are welcome to attend; light refreshments will be served.
The free film screening and discussion will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Harper Conference Center of the Ripley Medical Office Building, 193 Main St.
