Pianist Kennedy will perform at Winthrop Congregational Church

WINTHROP — The Winthrop Congregational Church, UCC, will host “Whisperings” recording artist and piano composer Dan Kennedy at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.

Classically trained at Oberlin Conservatory and New England Conservatory, Kennedy has been featured on Audiosyncracy, MainlyPiano.com, Music Choice, Pandora, RNA, SENE Film Festival, SiriusXM and Spotify.
Kennedy describes his genre as either “classical srossover” or “solo piano,” uniquely tinged with jazz and rock.
“While I play mostly originals, I have been known to include a classical piece or even a pop piece on occasion,” he said.
The concert will help fund scholarships for teens in El Junco, Honduras. Many students drop out of school because of the cost, so scholarships are an important part of their high school completion. Suggested donations are $12 for adults; $10 for students and seniors. Refreshments will be available during intermission.
