NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer “Know How to Use Your Fire Extinguisher,” a course that will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to detect and extinguish a fire only when it is safe to do so.
Norway Fire Chief Dennis Yates will discuss potential life-saving tips that could be useful if a fire breaks out in a home. Through hands-on training with fire simulations in a safe learning environment, the professional instructors will educate participants on the basics of fire extinguishers, including when and how to use one, the different types of fire extinguishers, the different types of fires and fire extinguisher maintenance.
This class will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Norway Fire Department, 19 Danforth St. There is no cost to participate, but registration is required.
