FREEPORT — The Southern Maine Senior expeo, a free event, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5 Park St.
The expo, hosted by Maine Senior Guide, is free, with no registration required.
The forum will address topics like senior housing, home care, hearing assistance, health, how to stay active, senior communities, insurance products, senior travel, legacy planning, joint replacement, Medicare options and more. Organizers said the expo is an opportunity for older Mainers to talk with resources and find the information they need. There will be 42 exhibitor booths.
At 2 p.m., Dr. Marilyn Gugliucci will give the closing keynote, “AGE: Attitude, Grace and Energy,” on how discussions about aging have been co-opted by the advertising industry. She will discuss what seniors can do to fight myths of decrepit aging.
There will also be free flu shots all day, speakers on the hour, Zumba Gold demos, and antique appraisals ($5 per item) to benefit charity. Dan Buck of Dan Buck Appraisals and Auctions, a former Antiques Road Show appraiser, will be doing our appraisals this year.
