NORWAY — The work of Artist of the Month Irinia Kahn will be featured at the Main Street Gallery through September.
The gallery is sponsored by the Western Maine Art Group, and is a co-operative gallery made up of local member artists.
The works of co-op members are displayed year round, and from April through November special focus is given to the work of a different member.
There will be a free reception for Kahn from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the gallery.
Kahn holds a master’s degree in art from the University of Greenville, N.C., and has traveled extensively both in her previous career in banking and in furthering her passion for art. Her artwork has been displayed throughout the country as well as here in Maine, and displays a mastery in multiple disciplines.
Since moving to Maine permanently in 2009, Kahn has been an energetic proponent for the arts, volunteering for several years as a docent at the Portland Museum of Art and has been a prominent figure in the Western Maine Art Group. As a past president of the group, she was a founding member of the Main Street Gallery.
The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, visit westernmaineartgroup.org or find the group on Facebook.
