NORWAY — An increasing demand for comfort items at the Cancer Resource Center for Western Maine has sparked a partnership with FedCap of Western Maine, which is in Oxford.
Participants in the FedCap program recently made fleece blankets to add to the comfort items distrubuted at the center, which also include port protectors, blankets, pillows, hats, wigs and scarves. Pieces made by volunteers and distributed for free to those who are affected by cancer.
Increasing demand for comfort items recently sparked a new partnership with FedCap. Participants of FedCap recently created several tied fleece blankets, with fleece material donated by community members. FedCap workers provided help creating the blankets.
Fedcap is a non-profit founded in 1935 that develops innovative solutions by creating opportunities for people tackling barriers to economic well-being.
The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, at 199 Maine St., in the Stephens Hospital Specialty Clinic buildling, provides information, resources and comfort to those affected by Cancer. It’s open 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
