Maine veterans state park pass expanded to include state museum

Aug. 122018

AUGUSTA — The Maine Bureau of Veterans Services has updated the Lifetime Veteran State Park Pass to reflect the passage of L.D. 1656, which also allows veterans free admission to the Maine State Museum.

Veterans who would like to apply for a free park pass will find information at maine.gov/veterans. The bureau checks the veteran’s discharge certificate from active duty service, the DD214, and determines whether veteran is a resident of Maine and received an honorable discharge or general discharge under honorable conditions, the two criteria for qualifying for the pass.
The pass does not expire and is valid for the lifetime of the holder. The Maine State Museum is at 230 State St., next to the State House.
