HEBRON — Author Norma Salway of Portland recently recounted her book — “The Attic and Me” — to the Hebron Historical Society.
The next society meeting will feature Mac Smith, author of “Mainers On The Titanic.”
Salway reflected on the numerous artifacts in the old boxes, tins and suitcases found in the attic of her Albany homestead. From her father’s syrup tins and tools to her mother’s patchwork quilts and various work aprons, each item had a story to tell about the owner.
Her stories examined the ways of stimulating child’s development through “making do” in the less technical era of the 1940s.
The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the Town Office, 351 Paris Road. The public is invited.
