MOUNT VERNON — There will be a community poetry reading sponsored by the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Mount Vernon Community Center on Main Street, across from the post office.
The evening will included readings of favorite poems and poets, given by community members of all ages.
You might hear Robert Frost, Shakespeare, Jane Kenyon, Shel Silverstein, or brief readings from local poets.
Bring your favorite book of poetry. The library will bring have books as well. Read a poem or just listen. Refreshments will be served.
