LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter in conjunction with Central Maine Community College, Edward Little and Lewiston high schools, and the LA Metro Chamber of Commerce recently held the third Economic Bus Tour for Educators.
The tour is designed to connect teachers and guidance counselors with business leaders. Educators learn about our local economy, businesses and opportunities for their students. Business leaders have the opportunity to tell their story, discuss career path options, their current and future workforce needs, and to help educators learn more about the skills needed for successful careers here in LA.
Educators toured Procter and Gamble, International Paper, Central Maine Community College, Central Maine Orthopedics, Mountain Machine, Grand Rounds, TD Bank/Bates Mill, Maine College of Health Professions, and Baxter Brewing. TD Bank and CMCC offered lunch to the educators and Northeast Charter provided the buses and bus drivers for the tours.
For more information and to be part of the tour in the future, contact Mary LaFontaine, Maine Department of Labor, at 207-212-2184.
