RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will present MIFF in the Mountains, the eight films from the Maine International Film Festival over four nights, Sunday through Wednesday, Aug. 5 through Aug. 8, at the RFA Lakeside Theater.
Each night will include two different films, at 5 and 8 p.m.
One of the films on the schedule is “The Children Act,” from the United Kingdom directed by Richard Eyre.Critically acclaimed Emma Thompson and Academy Award nominated Stanley Tucci star in the adult drama, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5.
Another film, “Hal,” scheduled for 5 p.m., Wednesdsay, Aug. 8, directed by Amy Scott, is a documentary that explores director Hal Ashby, whose films in the 1970s featured Oscar-winning actors Lee Grant, Jane Fonda, Jon Voight, Louis Gossett Jr., Jeff Bridge, and more, who recall how they were empowered by Ashby and granted collaborative freedom.
The Maine International Film Festival took place in Waterville from July 13-22 and featured 100 films.
