Jul. 52018

LEEDS — The Leeds Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its annual Barn Sale and Silent Auction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 21, and Sunday, July 22.
The event will be at Sander-Lou Farm on North Road.

The sale will includes anything anyone could need for house, camp or college dorm/apartment, including tools, home remodeling materials, indoor and outdoor furniture, dishes, electronics, lighting, books, sporting equipment, crafting materials, and toys.
If you are looking to redecorate, renovate, need to outfit a child going to college, or just want to change the whole look of your home, this sale may have what you need.
The auction will be a combination of open bids and raffle items. The bidding part of the auction will feature antique carnival glass, a cord of firewood, and Precious Moments collectibles — see the town of Leeds Facebook page for pictures — plus many gift certificates from local businesses.
Other items will be part of a Silent Raffle with multiple items so guests have a chance to win by purchasing tickets and placing them only with the items they prefer. Silent Raffle tickets will be $1 per ticket or six for $5. This year, the department’s “Trip to School in a Firetruck” will be up for bid.
The auction will close at 3 p.m. Sunday, and winners will be notified immediately. Winners need not be present to win.
The volunteer fire department is now working on updating its firefighter’s turnout gear to upgrade its safety and protection.
