Relative Pitch to perform at June 24 Turner church service

TURNER — The First Universalist Church will hold a special Sunday service at 10 a.m. on June 24, featuring the music of Relative Pitch. The group consists of Tim Flynn on harmonica, Karen Flynn on the guitar, Rob Tukey on the piano and Kathy Amsden on the drums.

“We are a group of friends who love to play music, to support local causes and who believe that music is the universal language of peace and harmony,” the said. As the director of hospice at Androscoggin Health Care and Hospice, Kathy Flynn has used music in her nursing practice for the past 40 years.

Amsden is a palliative care social worker and coordinates the Palliative Care program at AHCH. Tukey is retired and he too has been playing music for many years.m he was a member of the official L.L. Bean band before to his retirement.

The Flynns started playing music together when they were 15. “Relative Pitch is the ability to hear and match the tone of one voice to another creating harmony; something we love to do,” Kathy Flynn said.
