READFIELD — Historian Dale Potter-Clark will present a program “Some Readfield heroes of the Civil War” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Maranacook Adult and Community Education, 1151 Main St.
Between 1861 and 1865, the town of Readfield, population 1,500, bid farewell to 160 men as they left to serve in the Civil War.
Twenty-seven of them were killed or wounded. In this presentation, some of their stories will be told and the war’s impact on Readfield will be explored.
