UMA art students’ work on display through May 31

AUGUSTA — An exhibition featuring artwork from the University of Maine at Augusta’s graduating senior art students will be featured at the Danforth Gallery through the end of May.
The show, “Let’s Face It,” highlights each artists’ individuality with an array of concepts, includes topics of environmental and social issues, as well as insight into personal experiences.

The artworks include painting, mixed media, lost wax casting, printmaking, upcycled media, and ceramics, which were developed throughout the year as part of each student’s thesis project.
The exhibiting artists are William Brown and Brianna Daley, both of Augusta; Justin Knaus-Tucker and Melissa Oprendek, both of Waterville; Luke Myers of Waldoboro; Justin Pierce of Weeks Mills.
Daley, Myers and Oprendek have earned bachelor of arts degrees in art, presented at UMA’s commencement May 12.
The UMA Art program offers a bachelors degree in studio art with courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, design, printmaking, electronic arts, and photography.
