Leavitt Ski Boosters name Mark Evans winner of Paul Nutting Award

TURNER — Mark Evans, of Turner, recently received the Paul Nutting Award for outstanding years of dedicated service to the Leavitt Ski Boosters and the skiers on both the alpine and Nordic teams.
The award was started many years ago in honor of Paul Nutting, who set the bar high in terms of donating time and effort to the ski teams.

This year John Nutting, Paul’s brother, presented the award to Evans at the Nordic ski awards dinner at Leavitt Area High School.
The ski boosters meet about once a month during the school year and hold a couple of fundraisers to help cover the costs of ski teams, including the annual bottle drive in late November and early December of each year.
Becoming a ski booster is one way to connect with the community; having kids on the team is not a prerequisite.
