L-A Rotary Lunch Club to hear Literacy Volunteers’ Chamberlain

May. 102018

AUBURN — Tahlia Chamberlain will be the guest speaker of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Lunch Club when it meets Thursday, May 24, from noon to 1 p.m. at The Village Inn, 165 High St.
Chamberlain, who lives in New Gloucester, is a lifelong Mainer and over-the-top fan of her three large dogs and her husband, Norm.

Since graduating from the University of Southern Maine in 1985, she has worn many hats as social worker, teacher and program manager, having had the privilege of working with thousands of people, from tots to teens, disabled adults and college students.
In 1996, she became the first paid employee of Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin and quickly developed a passion for empowering adults through education. Twenty-two years later, she says the courage and tenacity of adult students and their volunteer tutors continue to inspire her.
Reservations are not required at the luncheon. For more information on future Rotary speakers, contact president and program chairwoman Monica Millhime, 207-713-7045, or email millhime@myfairpoint.net.
