Oxford Hills Rotary plants tree as part of Arbor Day challenge

From left, Rotary International President Ian Riseley from Victoria, Australia, recently challenged Rotary Clubs around the world to plant a tree for each of its 1.2 million members to promote environmental sustainability. In this effort, the Oxford Hills Rotary Club has planted two Northern Red Oak seedlings at the Cottage Street Rec Area. These are two of the eight seedlings planted on Earth Day in Norway April 27, which was designated Rotary Arbor Day. From left, Rotarian Louise Campbell, Norway Parks & Recreation Director Deb Partridge, and Rotarian George Rice finished planting a tree in honor of Arbor Day. (Submitted photo)
