AUGUSTA — A big donation from a downsizing bookseller means an expansion of the Kennebec Historical Society’s annual book sale.
Hallowell bookseller John Merrill is is moving to a new location and has donated 65 boxes of books to the historical society’s sale.
The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on three consecutive Saturdays, May 19, 26 and June 2 in the garage at society headquarters, 107 Winthrop St.
There will be more than 1,000 hard cover and paperback books at each sale. Subjects include fiction, biography, history, travel, business, china and porcelain, children’s books and more.
The hard cover and trade paperback books will be $1, and regular paperbacks 50 cents.
