Couples have chance at 2019 Washburn-Norlands Civil War era wedding

LIVERMORE — Couples who love history and plan to marry in spring 2019 are being offered an opportunity to celebrate their marriage at the historic Washburn-Norlands Living History Center and the popular Boothby’s Orchard and Farm.
The wedding for the chosen couple will take place Saturday, June 22, during the seventh biennial Civil War Living History Weekend at the Norlands.

Norlands director Sheri Leahan said the wedding package being offered includes a 1860s appropriate wedding ceremony followed by a public reception, informal dinner, barn dance and lodging for 30 guests. The fee charged the couple benefits the nonprofit history center.
Also included in the package are a wedding cake, flowers, photography services and marriage ceremony officiant, all provided by area professionals who have offered to donate their services to benefit the non-profit living history museum.
There is an option for a private reception at Boothby’s Orchard Barn following the scheduled festivities.
As many as 75 additional guests may be invited to the ceremony, dinner and dance for an additional charge, excluding housing.
The event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit history center, and couples should contact Denise Boothby fore more details, at boothbysorchard@gmail.com.
