MONMOUTH — Jason Grundstrom-Whitney of Monmouth recently announced the release of a new album, “Tired Eyes and Friends–Light-infused Dust.”
“Light-infused Dust” is a compilation of two brothers’ diverse musical interests, is a 15-song, 75-minute album by Grundstrom-Whitney and his brother, Jon Whitney.

The two formed the band Tired Eyes in the late 1980s. The band released the album “Scenes from behind the Mask,” and as the band Shadow Screamers, their album “Out of the Shadows,” while playing gigs in Virginia, Florida and California.
Now they are bringing back the concept album with “Light-infused Dust.” The story revolves around a fictional famed Wall Street analyst who created the complicated math behind the 2008 crash and may now have an opportunity to find another loophole in the system. It’s a decision-making day in his life, and through his experiences and listening to carefully placed music, he goes through a change of consciousness leading to an epic last several tracks.
The friends on the album are Maine-based musicians Bob Colwell, Katie Daggett, Dick Hollis, Pat Pepin, Christine Poulson, Roger Sampson, David Wakefield and J Whit. Abigail Holmes, Grundstrom-Whitney and both of his sons, Leif and Josh, provide the additional story’s speaking voices.
