The Edward Little girls and boys basketball teams were recognized in the Maine Senate Tuesday, March 27, by Sen. Eric Brakey, R-Androscoggin, with legislative sentiments honoring their recent Class AA state championship victories. During their visit the team also met with Rep. Ellie Espling, R-New Gloucester, and Rep. Bruce Bickford, R-Auburn. It was the Red Eddies boys team’s first basketball state title in 72 years, and it was the Red Eddies girls team’s first ever state championship. “I was glad to have both teams join us in Augusta today,” said Brakey. “Winning a championship requires a lot of hard work and dedication. I’m proud to represent not one, but two teams that have what it takes to be champions. This basketball season is one that will be remembered for years to come.” (Submitted photo)
