Monmouth Lions Club Speak-Out contest winners announced

MONMOUTH — The Monmouth Lions Club Speak-Out 2018 was held March 12 at the United Church of Monmouth Packard Activity Center.
The winners are Monmouth Academy students:

* Kaitlin Hunt — Impact of Rosa Parks – placed first and received $100 and a trophy.
* Natalie Grandahl — Definition of Beauty – placed second and received $75 and a trophy.
* Bryce Boulet — Quebec Independence – placed third and received $50 and a trophy.
Judges were Lions Douglas Grant, Robert Cyr Jr. and Debbie Sanborn. After each speech, contestants were asked questions by Lion Chris Bryant and Lion Christine Randall. Speeches were evaluated in three categories — delivery of speech, material and response to the question.
Monmouth Academy coaches Scott and Cathy Foyt were each presented with a Lions Club International pen in recognition of their hard work and dedication to Monmouth Academy and students. Chairperson Guy Piper commended the students “on a job well done.”
