Loon Echo Land Trust holds volunteer trail day April 14

Mar. 272018

BRIDGTON — Loon Echo Land Trust will hold its annual Volunteer Trail Day Saturday, April 14, on the Ledges Trail at Pleasant Mountain Preserve in Denmark.
Volunteers will meet at the Ledges trailhead parking area on Mountain Road at 7:45 a.m. for the six-hour program. They will be joined by other volunteers and staff from Loon Echo Land Trust and the Maine Appalachian Mountain Club.

Every winter season affects hiking trails, and this day is dedicated to clearing drainage, building rock steps and removing brush as conditions allow.
Tools and staff support will be provided. Participants are required to come wearing work clothes, pants and boots for this strenuous work day. Volunteers are encouraged to bring plenty of water and snacks.
Loon Echo’s next events are an Earth Day clean-up on Saturday, April 21, and an Earth Day hike to Bald Pate Mountain Sunday, April 22.
