Wilton Scout Troop 518’s Lombardi achieves Eagle rank

Mar. 252018

JAY — Nick Lombardi, of Wilton Troop 518, was presented the highest award in scouting — the Eagle Scout rank — during a ceremony held March 18 at St. Rose of Lima Parish.
Approximately 50 people attended the ceremony, including community leaders, local politicians and a representative from U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ office.

As part of his journey to Eagle, Lombardi had to lead an Eagle Scout project. His effort saw the creation of a handicapped-accessible trail, which required installation of several culverts, application of wood chips and clearing brush. More than 60 hours of work went into the effort.
Lombardi expressed his appreciation for all of the accolades, but especially for his parents, who supported his goal of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He plans to go to the University of Maine.
