Auburn Walk in the Park is March 30

AUBURN — The greater Auburn community may enjoy a Walk in the Park beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 30 to celebrated National Take A Walk in the Park Day.
The day is observed annually on March 30 as an opportunity for exercise and relaxation. The Auburn event is sponsored by the Auburn Conservation Commission and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.

Often calming and therapeutic, a walk helps clear the mind, experts note. It also helps re-energize and improves health.
“A walk in the park will likely be the most enjoyable part of your day,” said Auburn resident and Conservation Commission Member Tizz Crowley. “Be sure to do so with a clear mind and with your eyes open. In addition to avoiding a fall, open eyes will allow you to take in the beauty of nature’s wonders — flowers, trees, birds and wildlife.”
Auburn’s park walk will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Knight House, just below West Pitch Park, overlooking Great Falls. The walk will meander toward Sullivan Square via the Riverwalk, Festival Plaza, Bonney Park and the Art Wall. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk. Auburn has many beautiful public parks, and additional “Walks in the Park” may be scheduled. A list of parks can be found on the city’s website: www.auburnmaine.gov/pages/government/public-parks.
