CMP president will speak at Kennebec Valley Chamber breakfast March 21

AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a Chamber Connection breakfast 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at the Senator Inn & Spa, 284 Western Ave., with a keynote presentation titled “Leading the Charge to a Clean Energy Future for New England” from Doug Herling, president and CEO of Central Maine Power Co.

At the same event, Herling will present a $60,000 donation — on behalf of the partnership between the Avangrid Foundation and CMP — supporting Colonial Theater’s efforts to restore the historic building at 139 Water St. The Avangrid Foundation is an independent organization funding philanthropic investments in areas where AVANGRID and its subsidiaries operate.
Chamber Connections, named for connecting attendees with different organizations and speakers, covers topics ranging from education to development to politics and business resources. Speakers with expertise in these areas present thought-provoking ideas, leaving attendees with motivation and new knowledge.
The goal of Chamber Connections is to keep Kennebec Valley Chamber members and the people of the Kennebec Valley up to date and provide information on how to make their businesses successful.
