CANTON — The Canton Bicentennial Committee held its second incorporation event in February at the Canton Historical Society. This year’s fundraiser theme was Mardi Gras and featured authentic food catered by Big Daddy Tug’s Barbecue Company, genuine King Cakes from Manny Randazzo’s in New Orleans, as well as trivia, door prizes, the crowning of the king and queen, and a second line dance.
Approximately 85 people atted the event worked on for months by committee members Kathy Walker, Phyllis Ouellette, Loretta Blancato, Julie Martin, Liz Rothrock and Susan Moore.
Each February leading up to 2021, the committee will hold a special incorporation event to commemorate the town’s actual incorporation date, using this as a fundraiser to benefit the three-day bicentennial in August 2021.
