RANGELEY — Students involved in the Creative After School Arts program completed a humanities project in December, raising $272 for the Franklin County Animal Shelter in Farmington.
The free program for students from fifth to 12th grade operates daily in the RFA Lakeside Theater. CASA students work on Arts & Humanities projects.
Currently, several students are taking instrumental music lessons through the program with instructor Mike Schrader, and learning watercolor painting techniques with artist Pam Ellis. Other CASA students are working on a public art piece to be completed and displayed before summer. Students are also working with WRGY and the state-wide “Read to ME” program, reading aloud and recording bedtime stories to create a regularly scheduled radio program. The CASA program is always accepting new students. The weekly schedule of classes and workshops is posted in the RLRS weekly newsletter.
